Meet the Team
Part-owner of the 28°-50° restaurants in London, Emiliano is a veteran of the London restaurant and club scene. His career began working in Sir Terrance Conrans Butlers Wharf Chop House, he then moved to work for Gordon Ramsey’s Michelin star restaurant at the Connaught hotel, Mayfair. In early 2007 he became the manager at Greig’s Steakhouse in Berkeley Square, Mayfair and then became the General Manager at the Zebrano Group, Carnarby Street before linking up with Richard to set up the 28°-50° restaurants.
Executive Chef Julien Baris grew up on the French Atlantic Coast in the Les Landes region of South West France, home to excellent cuisine and rich terroir. Julien’s love of premium cuisine and world-class wines was instilled from a young age. He went on to study catering in Bordeaux for five years, before honing his craft in the kitchens of a number of Michelin-starred restaurants in France, including Le Moulin de l’Abbaye in Brantôme and La Table Des Frères Ibarboure in Bidart. Julien Baris worked his way up in various restaurants across France, from Paris to the Alps via the Pont du Gard, before moving to England in 2004. He became Head Chef at Aubaine in 2007, then joined the 28°-50° team in 2014. Since being in England, Julien has also worked with celebrity Chef Aggi Sverrisson of the Michelin-starred Texture restaurant, and today heads up a skilled team of talented international chefs, serving delicious, seasonally-led dishes.
Barbara has a rich experience in the hospitality industry- her journey started in Poland where she worked as a bar manager at Piano Rouge, a reputable restaurant and jazz club in Krakow. After graduating from Jagiellonian University, she moved to London where she worked as the hospitality manager at the Palm Beach Casino before becoming the manager at 28-50 South Kensington.
Four-time, Wine Spectator Restaurant Award winner, sommelier Ksenia Karpenko’s love of wine is matched only by her dedication to positivity and appetite for adventure. Having quickly progressed from a Junior Sommelier at Swissotel in Moscow, in 2009 Ksenia embraced the role of Head Sommelier at Barvikha Luxury Village and has worked with many other prestigious venues across the world. As a passionate and creative sommelier, she sees wine through the eyes of an artist. Her aspiration in life is to continue her wine journey and inspire people to be adventurous with wine and gastronomy.
Originally from Italy, Michael’s career in hospitality began in London working as a Commis in 28-50. He quickly thrived and immediately developed a love for wine, which led him to become a Sommelier. His ambition didn’t stop there and his passion for hospitality and excellence have led him to the new challenge of Assistant Manager.
Born in Canada, Kristian became interested in the art of food at an early age and graduated with a degree in Culinary Arts at Niagara College where he also gained an appreciation of wine. He worked at several 5-star hotels and private clubs from around the world including The Ritz Club, Le Meridian and The Sutton Place before joining the team at 28-50.
